WordCamp Belgrade will be held on September 18 and 19, 2026 in Dom Omladine and the first lineup already shows the direction in which we are building the program – practical experience, open source, WordPress development, AI, software responsibility and topics that concern people who actually work on the web. We represent people who come from different professional and geographical contexts, but they are connected by the same thing: long work with software, WordPress, open-source projects and community.
Nikola Svitlica
Nikola Svitlica is a developer and architect focused on open-source development, with more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, applied mathematics and machine learning. He is an active collaborator on open source projects and a lecturer at conferences and professional gatherings.
His experience brings to the program one of those angles that is important to us for WordCamp Belgrade: technology is not only a tool, but also responsibility, decision, assessment and consequences.
Marcel Schmitz
Marcel Schmitz is the founder and principal architect at Pluginslab, based in Porto. He has been working with WordPress since 2011, and has more than a decade of experience in the development of enterprise eCommerce platforms, especially in the WordPress and WooCommerce environment.
His work includes performance optimization, native mobile development and the application of AI in modern workflows. He is a regular lecturer and active member of the community, which makes his perspective particularly relevant to people who want to understand how WordPress development is changing in practice.
Giorgi Mamadashvili
Giorgi Mamadashvili is a software developer at GoDaddy, from Tbilisi, Georgia. He has been working with WordPress since 2009, and has been a full-time contributor for the last five years. Giorgi is a WordPress Core Committer, primarily focused on the Gutenberg project.
His participation brings an important Core and Gutenberg angle to the WordCamp Belgrade program, especially for developers who want to better understand modern WordPress development and how tools that use the entire ecosystem are built.
WordCamp Belgrade 2026 takes place on September 18 and 19 in the Youth Center. Two days of programs, two halls, lectures, workshops, panels, lunch, coffee and meetings with people who build the web from different angles await us.
